Mubarak merece la pena de muerte, dice fiscal egipcio

EL CAIRO (AP) — Hosni Mubarak debe recibir la pena de muerte por el asesinato de manifestantes en la sublevación del año pasado en Egipto, dijo el lunes en sus argumentos de cierre el fiscal en jefe en el juicio al ex líder egipcio.

Mustafa Suleiman dijo que Mubarak claramente autorizó el uso de municiones y una política de disparar a matar contra manifestantes pacíficos. Unas 800 personas murieron en la represión de la revuelta popular entre el 25 de enero y el 11 de febrero de 2011. Por esto, Mubarak y otros cinco acusados, incluido quien fuera su ministro del Interior Habib al-Adly, deben recibir la pena máxima, dijo Suleiman.

Se espera que el equipo de abogados del ex presidente, que gobernó Egipto casi 30 años, presente sus argumentos de cierre a finales de esta semana
